This addition and renovation project was done in three phases to accommodate the school year and temporary relocations during the project.
In Phase 1 during the summer of 2009, renovation work was done on existing student restrooms, and also on storage areas for the library, this was in preparation for the future expansion into the addition. This phase was completed before students returned in the fall.
Phase 2 was also started in summer of 2009. The addition of 9000 SF for a new library and three new classrooms continued into the fall. The walls and entrances to the new areas, were kept closed during this time. This allowed construction on the addition to proceed even while school was in session. This phase did have an exacting completion deadline for the students winter break. During winter break, the school staff was scheduled quickly vacate the old library, to allow abatement crews to remove asbestos in the old library while the school was empty for the holidays.
Phase 3 began after Christmas break and completely renovated the former 9000 SF library space for a new student commons area.

In 2000, This local landmark was at major risk after storm damage had greatly weakened the structure. Storm water trapped on the roof had caused the building to shift and pull away from the neighboring building. Emergency measures were taken by Batzer Service Division to evacuate the building temporarily save the building,
Then a Design/Build team was formed to do a complete historic restoration and save the building for future generations. The was originally built in 1890 and has had major renovations in 1907, 1927, 1940, and 1976. So how exactly do you “restore” something that has been renovated in so many different eras? In the end the final renovation drew on restoring an eclectic mixture of the historic and remodeled features. The building honors the evolving hisotry of downtown Medford, and uses the best features from different eras.
The design team comprised of owners Chuck & Jerry Horton, Don Burt of the Medford Urban Renewal Agency, Chris Reising from the City of Medford Building Department, Structural Engineer Brett King, representatives from the historical commission and Batzer Construction.
The building is now saved for future generations and will remind them of it’s long and varied history from a hardware store to jewelers shop.

This historic lodge needed renovation of some of the existing spaces and they also needed to add new spaces. With careful attention to the historic details, renovations were done in the log frame building. A new conference building was also added to the project and existing logs & siding were used to blend the new building in with the older buildings.
Travel & Leisure Magazine named this historic landmark “one of the top 25 Lodges in the U.S.”

This massive renovation of the old Medford 4 Cinemas, included a complete re-construction of the building on the exterior and interior. The building was structurally improved for seismic (earthquake) issues. The interior includes an attractive office lobby, and plenty of office space. Currently the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles and the Red Cross share the space. The building is owned and operated by Biddle Rd. Leasing, LLC.
